In a decisive 5-1 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday Night Football, Newcastle put on a brilliant offensive display to open the new Premier League campaign.

Sandro Tonali, a midfielder, gave the hosts the lead six minutes into an exciting first half at St James’ Park. Five minutes later, Moussa Diaby tied the score for Aston Villa.

After an action-packed start to the game, Alexander Isak scored for the first time five minutes later to give Newcastle the advantage again. He later increased Eddie Howe’s team’s lead with a skillful finish in the second half.

A stunning opening day for Howe’s team, who will take on champions Manchester City next weekend, was capped off by Callum Wilson’s addition of Newcastle’s fourth in the 77th minute. New signing Harvey Barnes’ extra-time goal then gave Newcastle the lead at the end of the day.

“We encourage our supporters to dream.

We must concentrate on the away match against Manchester City because that is the most difficult matchup in the Premier League. Given that they are the best team and have set the bar, we are focusing on whether we can win the game in its entirety. “.

Tyrone Mings suffered a serious injury in the first half for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, which had a disappointing start. Villa’s biggest opening-day loss prevented them from fully recovering, and Emery was left with a lot to think about.

For Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, who had a rough first half, Tyrone Mings sustained a serious injury. Villa’s biggest opening-day defeat prevented them from recovering fully, and Emery was left with a lot to reflect on.

Tonali had a fantastic debut for Newcastle in a fast-paced opening phase of the game. After making a last-second run, the former AC Milan midfielder dribbled into the penalty area and converted Anthony Gordon’s cross to give the home team the lead.

Newcastle and Tonali almost experienced even greater success, but a deft stop from Emiliano Martinez a few minutes later prevented that. When Villa equalized in the 11th minute, it turned out to be a crucial turning point.

Ollie Watkins flicked on Lucas Digne’s cross, and the ball fell for Villa’s debutant Diaby, who produced a deft half-volley finish to level the score for Emery’s team.

Despite the game’s continued unpredictability, that lead only lasted for five minutes. The goal survived a VAR review for a tenuous offside decision thanks to a brilliant free-kick hook by Sven Botman into the danger zone, and Isak was there to restore Newcastli's advantage.

Midway through the first half, Aston Villa lost defender Mings to what appeared to be a very serious injury. Just before halftime, Douglas Luiz missed with a header, and Diaby’s low shot was stopped by Nick Pope.

Alexander Isak was the game’s MVP.

During the final 10 seconds of the first half, there was a concerning incident when Martinez, who was far outside of his penalty area, pulled down Miguel Almiron on the sidelines. Despite the home crowd’s demands for a red card, the Argentina international was only given a yellow card by referee Andy Madley.

At halftime, Aston Villa substituted Pau Torres for Mings and Youri Tielemans for Leon Bailey, but Newcastle scored the opening goal of the second half. Isak capitalized on a mistake by Ezri Konsa by producing a skillful finish over Martinez to increase his team’s lead.

Soon after, Matty Cash missed Villa’s best opportunity of the second half after Watkins’ shot was parried by Pope. Martinez made a solid block to prevent Isak from scoring a hat-trick.

Late in the game, Newcastle introduced newcomers Barnes and Wilson. The two worked together to add Newcastle’s fourth goal, though they still had room for more.

Barnes again found Wilson, who finished poorly, allowing Martinez to make the save before Joelinton had a header cleared off the line by Watkins.

Barnes’ fifth goal, however, put the finishing touch on Newcastle’s outstanding performance.

  • We want our supporters to dream.

The away match against Manchester City must be our primary focus because it is the most difficult matchup in the Premier League.

With the knowledge that they are the best team and have set the bar, we are focusing on whether we can win the game in its entirety.

Our game heavily incorporates counter-pressing.

The crucial moments are when you press teams hard and act aggressively.

“If you don’t do well in those areas in the first few seconds of transition, problems are going to arise.

The game of cat and mouse, both with and without the ball, is constant. There were a few anxious times for us. A crucial component of our victory was our style. “

  • The bad outcome, but Ming’s injury is worse.

After Aston Villa’s defeat to Newcastle, manager Unai Emery spoke to Sky Sports.

“Newcastle started winning, and they are good at home.

When we were in the game, we scored the goal, and Ollie [Watkins] had good opportunities for us.

“The game was over when they scored the third goal, despite our best efforts to adjust and maintain control in the second half.

Newcastle, however, deserved to win after 90 minutes, and although we had some positive momentum after that, it wasn’t enough today.

We have a very sad week this week. Tyrone Mings is with Emilio Buendia today. The worst part of today was Tyrone’s injury, even though we lost and something went beyond what we had hoped.
“We need to reflect for a few days before getting ready for the Everton game “

It is “devastating” to see Mings acting that way.

John McGinn, the captain of Aston Villa, commented on Tyrone Mings’ injury.

Tyrone is very important to us.

an authority figure.

“It is a bittersweet victory after losing Emi [Buendia], and we are crossing our fingers for him.

“Watching him in that state is terrible. When Pau [Torres] arrives, we have no justifications because we spent a lot of money to bring him in. “.

  • Alexander Isak was named the game’s MVP.

Jamie Redknapp of Sky Sports says:.

“Recruitment at Newcastle has been astounding. Isak is a world-famous athlete and a fantastic player.

He is excellent with the ball and can score goals. He is a multi-talented individual. He plays basketball brilliantly.

“He is so unassuming that you can tell from his interview.

He is a fantastic football player, but I don’t believe he realizes it. “.

Alexander Isak, who won the game, was hailed as a global superstar. Jamie Redknapp of Sky Sports says: “Recruitment at Newcastle has been incredible. Isak is an international superstar and such a great athlete.“He can score goals and is excellent with the ball. This man is incredibly versatile. He is an incredible player. He is so unassuming that you can tell from his interview. He’s a great football player, but I don’t think he knows it.”

  • Opta statistics: Toon’s opening victory set a record.

Since 2002/03 (a 4–0 victory over West Ham), this was Newcastli’s biggest league-opening victory.

Aston Villa hasn’t given up five or more goals in their opening league game since 1951/52 (2–5 vs. Bolton Wanderers), and this is the first time since that time that has happened.

For the first time since August 13th, 2007, when Sam Allardyce was in charge of Newcastle, they will end the day atop the Premier League standings.

Only Mohamed Salah has ever done so in more consecutive seasons (six since 2017–18) than Newcastle’s Callum Wilson, who has scored on the first matchday of each of the last four Premier League seasons.
